My 2012 Craft Brewery Pilgrimage arrived at its destination in October.
One Saturday each month from February through October, carrying only the apps on our phones, we braved the highways and byways of Southern California seeking out the best craft brews and brewers. Taking courage from the monks who contributed so much to our knowledge of brewing, inspired by the rapidly growing craft brewing community, we visited nine excellent examples of Southern California craft brewing.
In February, we began our quest at San Pedro Brewing Company.
March winds blew us eastward to PackingHouse Brewing Company in Riverside.
April found us at Bootlegger’s Brewery in Fullerton.
In May, we visited The Bruery in Placentia.
June took us all the way to Green Flash Brewing Company in San Diego.
We headed to the beach in July, to Belmont Brewing Company in Long Beach.
In August, we enjoyed Tustin Brewing Company.
September found us at Monkish Brewing in Torrance.
We arrived at Golden Road Brewing in October.
The Craft Brewery Pilgrimage will rest and replenish over the next few months. I recognize that there are craft breweries i have not yet been able to visit, and new opportunities opening every week. There are people throughout Southern California who have yet to appreciate the beauty and importance of an excellent craft brew, and I will not rest until this valuable work is completed.
I am already busy researching potential sites for next year’s pilgrimage, and I will continue to report on my efforts in the months to come.
