Leadership does not get old or routine, predictable or boring.

Leaders do not get settled. They do not become complacent and do not accept the “same old same old.” Leadership is always new.

Leadership is learning and growing in new ways.

Honest, deep, authentic leadership is about knowing who you are and sharing your true self with the people around you. Leadership is about exploring, continuing to grow and learn. Leaders learn from each other, from other people they meet, from books they read, from their own mistakes. Leaders grow stronger and wiser. Leadership is always having something new to learn.

If you are not learning and growing, you are not leading.

Leadership is meeting new challenges.

Leadership pushes the boundaries further. Leaders translate “Why?” into “Why not?”

Leaders do not depend on goals or recognition from outside themselves. They appreciate the value of setting their own direction, satisfying their own expectations. Leaders recognize that they do not know what they do not know, that the only way to find out what we can do is to try.

Leaders know the joy of accomplishing what was impossible because we do not accept that we cannot do it.

Leadership is inspiring and motivating new life.

Leadership sparks the fire in people’s hearts.

Leaders are contagious. They share their true selves with the people around them, giving them examples of how deep leadership works. The power of their stories brings light and heat to the world.

The leaders who inspire us help us become the leaders we have the potential to be. Leaders encourage us and help us see ourselves in new ways. They know that we can, even when we do not recognize it ourselves.

What is new with you today?

How is your leadership inspiring you today?
