So many different jobs, surrounded by time looking for work!

I practiced law as a criminal prosecutor, and as a lawyer for a nonprofit corporation. I worked as an adjunct professor, developing and teaching university courses. I was an executive for companies in different parts of the country.

I have worked in a library and bookstores, cafes and a restaurant. I have worked at home, in offices, and in airports. I have started my own companies, and helped other people start theirs.

Most of the times I have begun working in a new place have been the result of my looking for work. The challenges that brought me into a new opportunity had been met, and it was time for me to find something new. With my impressive resume and winning interview style, I would look for work.

Time and experience showed me I was not only looking for my next job; I was looking for the right work for me. Yes, each job was a new challenge, but also a new step on a journey. Some steps have been more enjoyable than others. Each step held its own new lessons.

A few years ago, I took a big step. It was one of those times when the challenges had been met and the future was filled with possibility.

I was given the gift of time to reflect on where I was going, on what was next. It was the next part of a voyage of exploration and discovery, the beginning of StrategicMonk.

So, now I look for potential most of the time. I am a contemplative entrepreneur, or maybe an entrepreneurial contemplative. I accompany people on their own explorations, guiding, listening, encouraging, questioning.

Are you looking for work?

What work is looking for you?
