There are people who believe that spiritual life is about having good intentions. I know other people who understand spiritual life as focused on what they know. Others feel that spiritual life is in their hearts. For some, spiritual life is essentially letting go of everything else.

Some people believe spiritual life happens in special places or buildings. Some people find spiritual life in nature, in the woods, at the beach, or in the mountains.

All these things can strengthen spiritual life. All of them can be important, yet spiritual life is more than all of them put together.

Spiritual life is not about thinking the right thoughts or having the right answers. Spiritual life is not about achieving inner peace and joy, if that is as far as we go.

Spiritual life transforms deep truths into action in everyday life.

We live in a time when it is challenging to appreciate deep truths. We struggle to explore and discover our own core values and sacred truths. Our search, though, is only part of spiritual life.

If all we do is spend the time we need to see clearly, our clarity stays trapped within us.

Spiritual life is more than the journey toward the center and the time we spend there. Spiritual life also carries what we find in the center back out into the rest of the world.

Spiritual life infuses the time we spend working our way toward the truth of who we are. Spiritual life draws us toward reflecting on our values and principles. Spiritual life also fills us with a vision for how we can practice our truth every day.

Where is spiritual life turning truths into action for you today?

How are you practicing deep truths in your actions?
