Everyone wants to be healthy. Even when we might appreciate the extra rest and the attention, no one wants to get sick.

We want healthy bodies and healthy minds, healthy emotions and healthy finances. We have apps to monitor ourselves and tell us how healthy we are. Many of us work hard to develop good habits that contribute to our own health. We pay attention to how we feel. We get regular check ups to make sure nothing unhealthy slips through our defenses.

Is it possible to lead in healthy ways? Can we lead in ways that strengthen our health and the health of the people around us? Could anyone accomplish everything we need to do and still have time to rest and exercise? How long will our leadership last at this rate?

Some of us have some fairly unhealthy leadership habits.

We may need more regular exercise. They may become isolated and sedentary. It might help them to spend more time walking around, getting the blood flowing.

Others of us feed their leadership in unhealthy ways. They might enjoy throwing their weight around.

Some of us are even contagious. Our unhealthy leadership habits begin to infect the people around us. A few unhealthy leaders can spread their habits throughout an entire organization.

This might be a good time to schedule a leadership exam. Testing the health of your leadership can help you avoid more serious problems in the future. There may be ways a few changes in your habits can help you be more healthy soon.

We all want our leadership to be as healthy as possible. None of us wants to miss any time from work this summer.

How is your leadership feeling?

When is the last time you had your leadership health checked?
