Why Do Leaders Need Coaching?

Leadership coaches help people learn and strengthen a specific set of skills and abilities, develop a particular part of their lives. Some of the things leadership coaches work on are specific financial goals and skills, organizational culture, listening, leadership processes, restating and clarifying core values, communicating leadership vision, resolving conflicts, mentoring, finding steps to strengthen leadership day by day. Much of what I do as a leadership coach grows out of people bringing their core values, principles, and inner strengths to bear on matters of work and leadership.

How Does Someone Become a Leader?

Leadership is the ability to develop a vision that reflects the core values and principles of an individual or a group, and to design a strategy and set goals which help that individual or group make that vision a reality. Leaders use a variety of tools, like listening, planning, and re-establishing vision to motivate people to work together toward common goals.

Leaders are on an ongoing journey to empower others to lead, to participate in that vision. A leader’s ability to lead depends on the quality of their relationships with others, and with their own true self.

I have helped a wide variety of people and organizations discover their core values and principles, define their overall vision, and design strategies and goals to help them move forward. Leading as a volunteer and as a professional, I have demonstrated my ability to ask insightful questions, guide discussion and discernment, and build a strong commitment to common vision and goals. As an experienced leadership mentor, I have recognized and developed the potential and abilities of hundreds of leaders.
