I keep reading, and reading, and reading about leadership and the millennial generation.

I read there is a leadership revolution coming, and how it will be lead by millennial leaders. I have read that over 90% of the members of the millennial generation aspire to become leaders. I have read that millennial leaders lead differently than those of other generations.

I read that millennial leaders want to inspire and challenge people with a sense of purpose. Many millennial leaders recognize changes need to be made in our organizations. Apparently millennial leaders are out to transform the world.

The challenges millennial leaders face are significant. I read quite a bit about how unique, how innovative, how creative millennial leaders are. One of the challenges is how to sustain that uniquely innovative creativity for the long run.

I can remember when another generation, my own, was recognized as leading a revolution. We wanted to inspire and challenge people with a sense of purpose. We were out to change the world.

Many people in my generation have changed the world in unique, innovative ways. Quite a few people in my generation have also been distracted. Many of the difficulties we hoped to overcome still remain.

One of the challenges for my generation was a lack of information about strong role models. It was easy to feel we were on our own, creating something completely new. There were plenty of times we become absorbed in reinventing the wheel.

It is important to recognize my generation did more than write music to use in commercials. Our mistakes contain lessons for millennial leaders as they work to change the world.

We can help each other change the world.

How are you working to transform the world?

Who can help you learn lessons and make new mistakes?
